Corzine Gets One Right.
I did not vote for Governor Corzine, and I’m certainly not a fan. However, he is absolutely right on this issue.

Hope this is just the start of good decisions by Corzine. We have our fingers crossed for March 21.

The State forks over more than 550 Million to Newark to pay for the schools. Sharpe James gets 80 million from the Port Authority for the airport. Sharpe than creates an independant authority RUN BY HIM to “distribute” the 80 million, without rules, guidelines or cotrols on how to give out the money. As pointed out by the Star Ledger, this type of uncontrolled, no-holds-barred potential graft is unheard of in history, and is without precident in this, the most corrupt State in the country.
Let’s see Corzine tell Sharpe to use the 80 million for his schools, instead of passing Newark’s bills to taxpayers around the State. It would be different if Newark didn’t have the 80 million windfall, but it is a fact that they do. It’s easy to pick on the Giants & the Jets, but what about the greatest sweetheart deal in history for the NJ Devils where more than 210 million will be given by taxpayers to a failing hockey team. Graft run wild in Newark, but our professpr, sweater-wearing governor makes believe he dosen’t see. Shameful.

Cuz,
No argument from me. Newark politics and corruption don’t even rise to the level of “cesspool”. And, that is a voting block that Corzine definitely doesn’ want to piss off.
