Lake OK-No-Thankee.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:34 pm

When in Florida I did not spend any time on or near the water here, and here’s why.

The biologists begin to count. In three hours, from just a pair of airboats, they find 754 gators in one small section of Lake Okeechobee, one of Florida’s most concentrated gator habitats.

The slide show gave me the hot squirts. Don’t miss it.

Thanks (I think) to my friend Brian, the Air Force Vet

  1. I have been chasing a six footer all morning. When I went to go fishing very early, my cat, Rebel, had the gator looking at him in a breakfast way. When gator saw me, he went under the water.

  2. I liked the story about the guy whose dog was grabbed by a gator and the crazy dog-lovin’ dude grabbed his POCKET knife and stabbed the gator ‘tween the eyeballs (kids, don’t try this at home) and the gator let the dog go. I think the dog was OK, even. Somewhere out there is a gator with a cheap-ass pocket knife rusting in his forehead.

  3. Oh I completely forgot that Lake O has so many gators. When that dike finally breaks, like I keep blogging about, those gators have to go somewhere… Blech.
