Sapped.
It’s been a rough month.
We’ve watched the evaporation of much of our retirement funds, we’ve seen massive spending codified in a bill that no congressman or senator read before voting on it, we’ve learned that, unless you’re a union shop, you need not bother bidding on any of the “stimulusâ€-funded infrastructure projects, we’ve seen a promised tax assault on those who already pay most of the tax, we’ve seen a shamefully phony “tax cut†for some who pay taxes and even those who don’t, we’ve learned about fiscally crippling “cap and trade†solutions to a phony “climate change†problem, we’ve been told we’re “cowards†when it comes to the subject of race, and we’ve endured seeing The One and/or his wife on seemingly every magazine published in the U.S.
Oh, there’s more – plenty more, but the point of this little exercise is to tell you that the past month has rendered me incapable of writing much of anything at the moment.
I think I shall sit in a comfy chair and read.
Later, Peeps.
So, aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, did you enjoy the play?

This is exactly why I haven’t tried to watch any news, read any news, or even think about any news. It’s all depressing.
I originally typed a longer comment but seeing how I feel about it all in print depressed me more.

I’ve developed a partial solution to one of these problems — I have not bought a magazine in years.

…. I know exactly how you feel, brother….. hell, I can’t even watch the spiders begin defrosting themselves in the garage without imagining they’re just peeping out for a “stimulus package”…..

I know how you feel as well, and the sad thing is…you can’t make this shit up.

jimbo,
10 years ago, 5years ago, 1year ago, 60days ago a mention of a possible armed upheaval would make me laugh out loud. I don’t laugh a lot lately and it’s surprising how many people give me a serious nod when I say this.

I quit watching the news and I don’t watch him on TV. It gives me an anxiety attack.
Comment by Bou — February 28, 2009 @ 12:40 pm
I only wish The One would not have a TV press conference everyday at noon. It raises hell with the stock market.

I do not disagree (except perhaps on climate change) but let us not forget that Mr. Bus (yes, I voted for him twice) spent like a drunken sailor (think prescriptions). My retirement savings were well on their way down before President BO took over. In our Socialist Republic of New Jersey, you could not wipe your nose without a Union issued tissue all during the prior Presidential terms. We can blame the Dems (fannie and Frediie) but let’s remember that W didn’t really make much of a stink and we put up the worst possible candidate. I am not sure why I send this but I think you and your readers need to think of some action and candisites that can reverse this trend towards becoming Sweden.

ps re comment 9-armed upheaval is not an option.

Let’s be clear. I don’t blame Obama for the mess he inherited and to the extent that Bush tried to act like a democrat (i.e. overspending), he bears some blame. As for the fannie./freddie mess, the Bush Administration tried several times to warn Congress, but was shouted down each time (the You Tube links are there). I do, however, blame Obama for taking measures that historically have proven to be the absolute worse things ever to try to deal with an economy in recession.
Even assuming there is a legitimate disagreement ofer “climate change” (I believe it to be total baloney), what The One has in mind will be the nail in the coffin of the economy. It will screw business and the so-called “middle class” (workers, including union workers) in spades.

I have always believed since I was pretty young that I would never be able to “retire”. I don’t know why I knew this, but so it is. I’ve been watching my foresight being brought to fruition in the space of a month.
What to do? Now I just ignore. There is nothing I can do to stop this, so I’ll just deal with each issue as it comes along and gets in my face.
I refuse to give any politician the satisfaction of ruining my life. Refuse. Heh.

I’ve never expected anything from anyone, or counted on anyone, or really, on much of anything. I especially have never counted on the gubmint and have marveled all my life at those who do.
I keep expectations intensely low. Like, say, “low” is 1 on a scale of one to ten. I keep mine at -100.
THE ONE is full of shit and we all know it. It makes me feel better knowing I’m not alone in my views.

Watched Rush on Fox while ago. Now, I am not a big fan of Rush although he is usually pretty close to being on the money. Tonight he was at his best..and I agree with him..I want to see Obama FAIL! The only hope for the country is if he in fact does fail.
Fiscal conservatives are going to have to do the same thing the left wing has done for years..scream and scream loud. Send e-mails and make phone calls to the losers in congress. Support the few that act like fiscal conservatives and let the sumbitches who put earmarks on bills that we are gonna name names and how much of our money they are spending.
We have to scream loud enough that we are heard! The left screamed until they got what they wanted…a lot of it was because we just wanted them to STF up and a lot of it was because a lie told often enough is believed…just as the cult followers believe they are going to be better off with a multi trillion dollar debt hanging over our heads…yeah right…just wait until they find that the food stamps are not enough for food and dope both…
