Silly You…
And you thought that by attending a Town Hall meeting in order to present your grievances to your government representative, you were engaging in political speech protected by the First Amendment?
Wrong.
According to the White House, Members of Congress and the Mainstream Media, you are:
a Birther!
a Redneck
a Bible Thumper
a rabid extremist
an operative (well-dressed, of course) of powerful lobbies
an operative (well-dressed, of course) of health insurance companies
a part of an unruly mob
a Swift Boater
a fear monger
a Rethuglican
a hate monger
a right wing fanatic
and, last but certainly not least,
a RACIST.
Don’t say anything that sounds “fishy,†lest you be reported to Mr. Flag at the White House. But, oops! There is that pesky “political speech†thing.
If I had to pick one, I’d say I’m most like… the RACIST!

Geez, if I get a choice, I’d prefer to be part of the unruly mob.

Salmon! (Was that too fishy?)
So, I guess marching on Washington to protest is no longer protected? Someone better alert the hippies.

A Birther…geez. What boob dreamed that up? And exactly when did proof that a presidential candidate be an American citizen cease being a mandatory requirement?

I copied the website address (http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Facts-Are-Stubborn-Things/) and pasted it into an email to , letting them know that I’d found “something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy”.
Should be fun.

Sorry, it cut the email address – it went to flag(at)whitehouse.gov.

You need to add “swastika carriers”, thanks to Nancy Pelosi.

Hey, can i be more than one? I don’t want to limit myself. Why just be a birther when I can be a mouth-breathing bigoted birther as well. See, it’s all about choice and having options 🙂

Oh oh oh!!! I wanna be well dressed!!!

nahhh…you guys may or may not be any of those things, and aside from a tiny minority (Rachel Maddow and…Rachel Maddow) I certainly haven’t seen the mainstream corporate media report on the interrupters of the town hall meetings as anything but legitimate (even when they’re not).
The anti-reform people I’ve talked to at the meeting I went to didn’t have their facts correct, shouted slogans instead of solutions, wouldn’t listen or debate, and didn’t have a single lucid thought on the subject beyond the same boring ignore-the-problem-and-blame-everyone-but-us-especially-the-gubment rhetoric that lost them the elections in 2006 and 2008. So no, I wouldn’t characterize you as any of that list, and nor has anyone beyond the hallowed walls of the comment sections of political websites. But I would characterize you as clueless. Have a nice day, and may the cancer in your bodies not be deemed as a preexisting condition!

Perhaps you can start a new feature on your blog: Cash for Comment Clunkers. It might not go over so well in this administration, and you’d be risking that an errant clunker commenter deem you as something “fishy,” but I think it would be a bonafide hit with your readers.

I reported myself. Seemed only fair.
