Cost of Government Day.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:54 pm

Yes, Peeps. Today marks the day in the year when the average American has earned enough money to pay for federal, state and local governments. Chew on that for a minute. It would take every penny you earned from January 1 until today just to pay the cost of government.

The real kicker is that in New Jersey our “Cost of Government Day” doesn’t arrive until September 14!

Positively sickening.

  1. I remember when the Federal Government payoff day was in April… then May. Now August. And for what? I’ve yet to see any return on my money, except for a few people I know that decided to rape the system and live on the dole the rest of their lives. Fuckers. I’m glad they’re sitting on their asses watching Jerry Springer while I’m supporting them.

  2. Florida’s was on August 13. We got a whole 6 days better than the average due to having no personal state income tax.

    Sigh.

  3. Yeah. For the first time in my life, I’m living in a State with an income tax, and it sucks.

  4. Do you know the date for the “median” taxpayer?

“Average” is a crappy indicator, since 50% of Americans pay ZERO income tax. So I imagine for schmucks like us, it will eventually become like “Christmas in December.”
