The Diamonds — “Little Darlin'”
In 1957, when the Diamonds has their monster hit, “Little Darlin’,” I was just about old enough to be a Boy Scout, but I remember the song well. To be a hit a song back then it had to sell a shitload of records (i.e. those flat, black things with grooves). To see the same guys re-assemble after forty-seven years and sing their hit tune speaks to me on many levels.
The Diamonds, forty-seven years later.
For those of you who, like me, are old enough to remember the Diamonds, or who give a crap about any of this, the Diamonds are the same guys who sang “The Stroll,” which was also a dance.
I know how to do The Stroll. Do you?
Thanks to reader Dave for the links.
Linked by Doug Ross. Thanks!
Some good whistlin’ at the end of “The Stroll,” as I recall.

Sadly enough yes I do, getting close to dirt nap time.

Cats still had the pipes after all those years–wow! I too know how to Stroll, but like James Old Guy just waiting on the dirt nap time. Thanks Jimbo for posting these–good memories.

Jimbo….Yeah I also know how to stroll…..back in the day I did so in blue jeans, tee shirt with the left sleeve rolled up holding a pack of cigarettes & DA haircut.Really cool! Today the blue jeans no longer fit,I don`t smoke & the hair is too sparse for a DA.
Oh! by the way….My current version of the Stroll is now more of a stumble given the ravages of time.

One of the best songs from the 50’s I remember it well, just like the day the music died. Feb. 3rd.

Now we have rappers.Let them line up,face each other and shoot until no one is left standing. Then the moronic rhyming and background noise will stop.

The Stroll? I haven’t done it since High School, but I’ll bet I could pick it up again pretty fast!

IIRC the Diamonds were the musical pride of Canada until the Guess Who.

There is another song called Little Darlin – even older and IMO better.

Loved it- can’t beat true talent – loved them when they first started – now into my seventies – seeing them again now still love them.
Well done Diamonds
