Big News!
Shiner Bock, brewed in Texas, has come to New Jersey! Hot damn! Knowing it’s brewed in a red state makes it even better.
I’m looking forward to washing down a few and having a bunch of excellent blogmeet flashbacks.

That’s good news! I remember visiting my dad in New York one summer (early 80’s) and getting a blank stare every time I asked for Dr Pepper. And then getting the same blank stare a couple of years ago in NY when I asked for a Shiner.
Can you get only the Bock? I drink the Black and the Mister is enjoying this year’s anniversary brew, Shiner 102.

Ah, fond memories from Texas blogmeets past. For some reason, whenever I hear the words “Shiner Bock,” I instantly envision Denny (the significantly younger Elderly Brother) in his spiffy yellow Hawaiian shirt.

I’m gonna have to take a Shiner brewery tour since it’s just down the road a piece.

Shiner Bock is a fine brew – and that fact that it’s the beer of choice at many a blogmeet makes it even better.
Shiner has come a long way since I first moved to Texas back in the Disco Years. The Lone Star state was home to several local brews – Pearl, Lone Star, and Shiner, notably – that all tasted like piss. (And I say that with love for Texas in my heart.) But Shiner was the pissiest of those piss-brews. Horrible. Happily, today’s Shiner Bock is a whole different matter.

The secret ingredient in Shiner Bock is alligator juice.
Just thought you should know…
