Another Sandy Casualty.
This is all that is left of a pier down the road. At the end of the walkway out into the bay was a section that ran parallel to the shore from which people fished and crabbed. We often spent time there reading, watching the boats and enjoying the view across Barnegat Bay. That section is completely gone.
Bummer.
The storm was apparently fierce enough to invert the very earth and sky!

Really? Is the image inverted? On my screen it’s OK. It came out upside down from the iPhone, so I inverted it to right-side-up. Very confusing.

Ha! I just pulled up the page on my iPhone, and the image is upside down. On my computer, it’s correct. Farookin’ technology.

Forever your life will be marked by ‘before Sandy’ and ‘After Sandy’. This is how we live in FL. “Before the year of five hurricanes’ and ‘After…’ Pensacola is ‘before Ivan’ and ‘After Ivan’. NOLA is ‘Before Katrina’ and ‘After Katrina’. That will never change.
You will have a new normal.

Yeah, even here in Thailand, it’s the same. Before it was the Tsunami, now it’s the flood of last year. Life goes on though. You pick up the pieces and do the best you can.

I promise you… this time next month it will not be the same. It won’t be what it was, but you will be in a completely different place than you all were just even a few days ago. You can’t bring it back… but it won’t be what it is now.
