American Legion Tonight.
My blogging time tonight will be spent at my American Legion Post serving as one of the judges to select delegates for New Jersey Boys State. I have done this for the last couple of years, and, although I’m pretty well cooked from a hard day at the salt mine, it is always uplifting to see good kids doing their best to compete for one of the spots in an excellent program.
Jimbo…. better you than me

Is Boys State like Boys Town?

Role playing as Representatives or Senators??
Do they learn the finer points of corruption a la Torrecelli? Or are they going to focus on “how to campaign for Governor of New Jersey” as their primary Senate duty?
Wouldn’t a stint in prison give them the same skills?

Hi. I went to jersey’s Boys’ State this year. I am from post 313 in Hamilton. I had a fantastic time there and learned more in one week then what could be learned in a month in school. The program is phenomenal and I plan on being a life-long supporter because I believe it is my duty to give back what was so graciously given to me. I would like to thank anyone who is reading this that took time out of your lives to give my peers and I one of the greatest opportunities of our lives.
