Notable Quotable.
Once in a while, you run across a quote that sings in unison with Life 101 at that very moment. I came across this one at Shamrocketship in a post wherein Lynne quotes an unnamed author:
“Writing is as easy as sitting at a typewriter and opening a vein.”
Farookin’ true, that.
Last night, I was too lazy to look it up. Tonight I did. Red Smith said, “There’s nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.” But when I found that one, I also found this: “Writing is easy: all you do is sit staring at a blank sheet of paper until the drops of blood form on your forehead.” – Gene Fowler. Thanks for the nudge – I should have given them credit.
