Andrew Olmsted.
Milblogger Andrew Olmsted was killed in action in Iraq a few days ago. He had a prepared a post for such a horrible eventuality.
Words fail me.
I know that others have written about this, but I want to see that as many people as possible have an opportunity to read his “Final Post.”
May he rest in peace.
Note: I apologize for the initial misspelling of this amazing man’s name. I have corrected my mistake.
Heartbreaking

I learned of this on Blackfive, but I hadn’t seen more than snippets, here and there, of his Final Post. In its entirety, that was a positively sobering read. Godspeed to his brave American soul.

He shall be carried home on the swiftest of wings, to the place of peace and light.

Very moving. I posted it so that hopefully others will be just as moved.
Thanks for posting this and bringing it to our attention.
I wish all of those that have given their lives could be remembered and honored by more people.

Ya know, it’s tough enough to find a decent major these days. This one was lost far too soon.

I’m speechless. The world needs more people like this man. We are poorer for having lost him. RIP.
Thank you, Jim. This needed to be seen by as many people as possible.
