Freeze!
Those peeps who paint themselves silver or gold and stand still like a statue tend to creep me out, but I found this to be very cool. Two-hundred + people freeze on cue in Grand Central Station in New York City. Reminded me of a science fiction movie.

Dude, everyday in New York is like a science fiction movie. And WTF is up with all the New York blogging lately? You tryin’ to steal my beat, or what?

I figure that I probably live closer to midtown than you do. In addition, seeing as how you can call a team that plays in New Jersey in a stadium built buy New Jersey taxpayers the “New York” Giants, I figure I can claim dibs to Grand Central Station, Yo.

Just did the math, Cheeky McImpudence. According to Google Maps, I live exactly 20.8 miles/36 driving minutes away from Grand Central Station, and you live 20.0 miles/33 driving minutes, so yes, there is an inconsequential disparity, BUT!
The Google peeps didn’t take a few things into consideration:
A] I know the subways better than I know my way around my own apartment, and I know how to get to GCS as easily as you know how to get from your house to work each day. The subways can move a lot quicker than Big Fat Black Capitalist Cars. And when they go express, fuggedaboudit.
B] I’m younger than you and can, thus, move quicker. Catch me if you can, Hairboy!
C] I don’t have to fight with all the Jersey douchebags causing tie-ups on the way to the GW, Holland Tunnel or Lincoln Tunnel, because all of youse all clamoring to stimulate New York’s economy.
Nu, so when are you gonna visit?

I would love to be a part of something like that!!
When I told ghost stories, there would be a moment when folks entered the “ghost parlour” and I was the widow next to the casket. Freaked folks out when I finally moved! Heh.

I’m kinda surprised someone didn’t freak out and call the cops. Then again I’ve never been to Grand Central so I have no idea what kind of weirdnesses go on there regularly. *grin*

I’d be afraid someone would lift my wallet. I mean, it is New York, after all.

That video was pretty cool.
They had some mimes doing that in Vegas but they pretty much looked like douchebags 😉

Very cool. Re: those silver-gold statue people, they freak me out too. The ones I’ve seen always look vaguely menacing and there’s usually a crying kid nearby.
