Once apon a time, back when I played, I really liked most of the Paiste line, except for the ride… I prefered a Camber II for that, in the 20″ variety… It had a more unique tone, and I could get a little more variation out of it… Splash was a Zildjan, but really for a splash, almost anyone would do ok…

I don’t know much about cymbals, but I had a friend who swore by Zildjians.
He had a ride cymbal that you could not get an overtone out of, no matter how hard you beat on it. I also like the sound he got out of it when he rode the bell.

I tried Zildjians in a restaurant once, but their consistency was too slimy for me.

TL,
The Zildians probably were not properly prepared. They should be rinsed thoroughly in cold water and broiled with lemon slices on top.

I really like my pasties a lot smaller than that. In fact, here in Oregon, they don’t even have to wear pasties.
