You can’t listen to a Wall Street “Occupier†without hearing the words “greed†or “greedy†being bleated with nauseating regularity: “greedy†bankers, “corporate greed,†“greedy†executives, blah, blah, blah.
I would like to see the following experiment.
Imagine loading up a helicopter with bushel baskets containing a thousand fifty-dollar bills, flying over the “Occupation†and dumping them on the crowd.
Wouldn’t it be great to shoot a video of all the “ungreed†that would ensue?
… In interviews, business owners said they were especially annoyed that the organizers of the grass-roots movement neglected to include portable toilets in their plan to bring down Wall Street.
…
Several businesses said they had no choice but to respond to the influx of protesters by closing bathrooms.
Mike Keane, who owns O’Hara’s Restaurant and Pub, said that the theft of soap and toilet paper had soared and that one protester had used the bathroom but had failed to properly use the toilet. Both Ms. Tzortzatos, owner of the Panini and Company Cafe, and Mr. Keane said the protesters rarely bought anything, yet hurled curses when they were told that only paying customers could use their bathrooms.
…
It’s like a cockroach infestation.
UPDATE: The whole thing just keeps getting stinkier.
Over the years, I probably have listened to Dion’s“Runaround Sue,” oh, about a gazillion times, and I have also sung it alone and with a crowd (alcohol often being involved), oh, about a half a gazillion times. Not too many peeps actually sing the verses, but everyone sings along with the background vocals.
Everyone sort of has their own version of the “words” in the background vocals, but today, on his Facebook Page, Dion wrote:
HAPE, HAPE, BUM DA HAITI HAITI***
(just for the record, this is the background vocals sounds to “RUNAROUND SUE.”
***When I sang this to the “Del Satins” they thought I was crazy:-D
