In an article in the Chicago Sun Times, Robert Novak opines that the 25th Infantry Division does not pack the gear to fulfill its mission in Afghanistan. Sgt. Hook takes issue with Mr. Novak’s opinion.
No contest here, for I’m certain that Sgt. Hook is infinitely more knowledgeable about the 25th Infantry Division than is Mr. Novak.
Nice going, Top.
“WHO WOULD THE FRENCH VOTE FOR?”
“Seen” on the Imus in the Morning Radio Show. Imus claims to be placing this bumper sticker on his truck, even though he has identified himself as a Kerry supporter (for the comedy value, methinks).
June Taylor, the five-time Emmy Award Winning Choreographer, died in Florida at age 86. Making her television debut in 1948 with the June Taylor Dancers on Ed Sullivan’s “Toast of the Town” program, she was most famous for her choreography on Jackie Gleason’s “Cavalcade of Stars” in the 50’s and 60’s. After decades of success on the Jackie Gleason Show, Ms. Taylor worked from 1978 through 1990 as the choreographer for the Miami Dolphins’ Cheerleaders
I recall being a little boy watching the June Taylor Dancers on the eighteen-inch black and white TV with my dad and looking with wonderment at the undulating and ever-changing geometric forms created by the dancers as they were being broadcast from an overhead camera. It all seemed so hi-tech and complex then.
Now, I miss the simplicity of it all.
May she rest in peace.
